The human body is a system made of cells working together. Cells depend on each other to maintain homeostasis or keep conditions in balance. Cells do different activities. The cells that have similar activities work together to become tissues. There are four types of tissues, epithelial, connective, muscular, and nervous. When two or more tissues work together, they form an organ. Each organ has a specific job and is made of multiple tissues. Each organ in your body is part of a different body system. Those are the four main levels of organization; calls, tissues, organs, and body systems. I will be focusing on multiple different body systems, so click the button above to enter my site and learn more about how your body functions.
This is a rap about all of the body systems. It introduces the major ones and gives a brief description about what they do. It is a very catchy rap to help people remember the body systems and some of their functions.
This is a diagram depicting the organization, begining with the smallest, cells. It then works it way up to an organism.
As shown in this picture, level one is a cell, level two then becomes multiple cells forming together to make a tissue. This leads to level three which is multiple tissues working together and becoming an organ. Lastly, multiple organs working together to create a system. Also, as shown in this image, all of your systems working together form an organism or in this case a human being.
"The body is a community made up of its innumerable cells or inhabitants."~ Thomas Alva Edison
This video focuses on the main levels of organization beginning at the subatomic level and ending with an organism.
This image shows the 4 main types of tissue. Connective tissue connects, supports, and separates other organs. Epithelial tissue covers and protects other tissues. It also absorbs and secretes. Muscular tissue contracts and relaxes to produce both voluntary and involuntary movement. Lastly, nervous tissue sends electrical signals throughout your body.
